This early success was followed up with Roger Sanchez's "Another Chance", which hit No.1 in the UK singles chart in 2001. To date, Defected has released more than 300 singles from artists such as Bob Sinclar, Kings of Tomorrow, Dennis Ferrer, Martin Solveig, Copyright and ATFC and is seen as one of the world's leading specialist labels in house music.

In this week’s show Treasure Fingers hit us up with an exclusive guestmix ahead of his EP on Defected. Elsewhere Aaron showcases upfront music from his sister labels Hi Rise and Lo Rise, and there are new cuts from Miguel Campbell, Joris Voorn, and David August.

Basto - Bonny [Spinnin Records]

Basto - Bonny [Spinnin Records]

Meet Belgium's brightest rising star on the global music firmament: Basto. For the big public, it all started out with "Gregory's Theme". Originally written as a classical homage to Hugh Laurie's iconic TV character, (Gregory) House, it eventually transformed into this epic dance record, turning heads everywhere and being championed from day one by the industry's biggest tastemaker, Mr Pete Tong himself. What followed was massive chart success and daytime radio airplay.
What followed were very well received remixes for Kylie Minogue, Moby and Sander Van Doorn, a remarkable set at Tommorowland (with a white grand piano) and a new smash: "Again and Again". The video topped one million views on Youtube in less than 8 weeks, and the single reached #4 on Beatport, holding a top 10 position for over a month. Now, again, labels and radios worldwide seem to be picking up "Again and Again" as well, and so the story continues..

Basto's new single "Bonny" will be released on 20th August via Spinnin' Records.

MYNC & Senadee - No Place Like Home (incl. Denzal Park Remix) [Cr2 Records]

MYNC & Senadee - No Place Like Home (incl. Denzal Park Remix) [Cr2 Records]

As featured prominently on Thomas Gold’s most recent Sirius XM “Fanfare” show, MYNC has team up with UK vocalist Senadee on “No Place Like Home’ - a beautiful summer festival anthem that you won’t forget. A blissful original is paired with a killer remix package featuring reworks from Denzal Park, Mario Fischetti, Electronic Youth and Avesta. As a thank you to the fans for making 2012 MYNC’s biggest to date, CR2 IS offering the Avesta Remix free for all to download and play LOUD!

MYNC have been quietly getting on with their business over the last 6 months. In between producing and DJing internationally at such esteemed venues as Green Valley Brasil, Fabrik Madrid and the Miami Winter Music Conference, MYNC have been delivering some fine remixes for dance music’s royalty including official mixes of Avicii ‘Fade Into Darkness, Azari & III ‘Reckless With Your Love’ and Nervo ‘You’re Gonna Love Again’.
Their recent production, ‘Stadium’, was snapped up by Calvin Harris and promptly released on his imprint, Fly Eye Records, commanding full support from Radio 1’s Pete Tong, as well as plays across Kiss (Steve Smart), Capital FM (Andi Durrant) and David Guetta’s Radio FG Show.

Senadee just signed his latest solo production to Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto, the first ‘non-dance’ signing by Oakenfold to his esteemed label in over ten years, and has collaborated with Grammy-nominated American dance producer, BT, on material for his forthcoming album. Having already secured a legion of fans through extensive live shows, guest vocal appearances and TV & Radio play around the globe with some of the biggest names in dance music, Senadee now has his sights set on chart success.

Check out the official video for MYNC feat. Senadee on “No Place Like Home". The video pairs the big room instrumental and Senadee’s soulful vocals with a video documentation of life on the road for MYNC. From the nonstop travel and big rooms sets, life’s a blur for a DJ. But there’s still nothing like stepping off that plane and realizing you’re finally home again.

Claes Rosen - August 2012 DJ Mix

Claes Rosen
Whilst being known for pushing the boundaries of dubstep together with his production partner Ola Naslund going under the guise of L-Wiz, Claes Rosen has been establishing himself as the “man of melodies” who never ceases to astonish his listeners.
Being born in Sweden, Claes is known for having a very eclectic and atmospheric sound that shows off a quality of production that is rarely heard nowadays. Claes’s impressive production skills have taken form as an instant and relentless reaction to the absence of electronic music that shimmers with the presence of melodies – which has given him one of the most sought after epithets in the world of music; to have an own “sound”. Taking use of his skills Claes partially creates music stretching far beyond his invisible boundaries, regardless if it’s deep house or music for Swedish TV-commercials.

Deadmau5 set to release new album "album title goes here" through mau5trap

Deadmau5 set to release new album "album title goes here" through mau5trap

The world of deadmau5 – the globally-renowned electronic artist – is always fast and furious. He recently overhauled his studio in his hometown of Toronto and following his recent European tour, he locked himself in and went on a creative spree to finish ‘> album title goes here <’, his new album due out September 24th (Mau5trap/Parlophone).

Following his performance with Foo Fighters at this year’s Grammy Awards where they showcased his stellar remix of ‘Rope’, deadmau5 continues his collaborations in the rock world by enlisting the vocal talents of Gerard Way, lead singer of My Chemical Romance for his new single ‘Professional Griefers’. Out on August 14th, the single sits on the tougher end of deadmau5’s productions and has already been added to the Radio 1 playlist.

Fans first got to experience ‘Professional Griefers’ as an unreleased instrumental during deadmau5’s Meowingtons Hax tour last year, premiering the track at his critically acclaimed headlining performance at Lollapalooza. The vocal version of ‘Professional Griefers’ kicks off with stomping beats and heavily distorted guitar stabs, then builds the tension with discordant synth strikes leading into the chorus and features one of the most distinctive voices in rock. The accompanying video, featuring both deadmau5 and Gerard Way was created by Dave Stewart’s Weapons of Mass Entertainment production company and debuts later this month.
All the tracks on ‘> album title goes here <’ are deadmau5 original productions. They include collaborations with ‘Animal Rights’ co-producer Wolfgang Gartner (‘Channel 42’); vocalists Imogen Heap (‘Telemiscommunications’) and Chris James (‘The Veldt’ – the critically acclaimed track inspired by the Ray Bradbury short story); and legendary hip-hop outfit Cypress Hill (‘Failbait’). New tracks include the Close Encounters of the Third Kind-inspired ‘Closer’, the dancefloor burner ‘There might be coffee’ and electronica piece ‘Sleepless’. Like ‘Fn Pig’ and ‘October’, many of these tracks have been available on deadmau5’s SoundCloud as rough edits. For ‘> album title goes here <’ they come together as finished songs in the format he intends them to be heard by his fans.
deadmau5, who recently headlined the Wireless Festival in London, is set to perform at Creamfields in Cheshire (August 26th) and has been confirmed on the bill for this year’s iTunes Festival (September 9th).
‘> album title goes here <’ is available to pre-order from August 14.

John Dahlback - Zeus [Doorn Records]

John Dahlback - Zeus [Doorn Records]
John Dahlbäck is further testament to the theory that when it comes to overly talented musical homelands, there could indeed be something in Sweden’s water. Born in 1985 in a small village near Stockholm, he landed his first record deal aged just 15 while most of his peers were just discovering clubs. Just a few years later he was already the proud owner of a worldwide respected label, had a string of well-known productions to his name and a reputation for quietly turning out some of the best house melodies you could hope to hear.
Although primarily an outlet for John's more experimental tracks from the studio, about 20% of Mutants' output is made up of other artists signed by John. "I like to combine sounds and styles and I still want that emotional twist, but I love the playful and sometimes experimental vibe of house."
New track "Zeus" will be released 3rd September on Doorn Records

Official Video: Knife Party - Centipede

Official Video: Knife Party - Centipede

Having rocketed from an unknown entity to one of the most renowned dance acts in the world with a barely a moment to catch their breath, Knife Party have laid down the gauntlet  for all other electronic music producers with their irreverent approach and inimitable productions. With the release of their sophomore ‘Rage Valley’ EP in June, the enigmatic duo wrote their name indelibly into dance music of this generation. Boasting a combined play count of 850,000 plays on Knife Party’s SoundCloud, the EP was released to widespread acclaim, hitting the top 10 in the UK, USA, Canada and Australia iTunes charts as well as No.1 in the UK dance chart, remaining in the top 70 in the UK main chart nearly three months on from its release. It debuted as No.1 and No.2 in both the Beatport and Trackitdown dubstep charts and ‘Bonfire’ was playlisted on the A list at Radio 1 for five weeks. Now they are set to release EP track ‘Centipede’ as their next single, accompanied by a brilliantly realized and powerful video.

Amalgamating a wide breadth of influences into their visceral productions, what they have simply coined as ‘seizure music’ is a heady cocktail of sounds that rips apart dubstep, electro, drum and bass and moombahton and fuses them back together into ferocious club tracks. This energy and excitement was wholly evident on the four track ‘Rage Valley’ EP, and nowhere more so than on ‘Centipede’. Opening ominously, Knife Party set the scene around the predatory vocal sample as it snakes through the undergrowth. Pouncing with a razor sharp half step drum pattern and malevolent, juddering bassline which in turns glitches and growls viciously, ‘Centipede’ showcases Knife Party at their most potent.

With just a few releases to their name to date, the duo’s list of achievements is phenomenal. Their debut EP ‘100% No Modern Talking’ has racked up 500,000 downloads, a Beatport number 1 and 7 million plays of ‘Internet Friends’ on YouTube alone, while they have amassed close to 500,000 facebook fans and headlined shows and festivals to crowds of tens of thousands. Remixing Porter Robinson, Labrinth and Nero to name a few, Knife Party also collaborated with Swedish House Mafia on the phenomenal 2012 worldwide smash ‘Antidote’. Following the release of ‘Rage Valley’, this summer has seen them play huge sold out shows across the US and Europe including performances at Red Rocks in Colorado, EDC Las Vegas, Global Gathering UK, a headline set at London’s Wireless Festival and a summer residency at Amnesia in Ibiza to name but a few.

Swanky Tunes - Blood Rush [Showland]

Swanky Tunes - Blood Rush [Showland]

Russian EDM superstar trio Swanky Tunes launch their brand new label ‘Showland’ in collaboration with Spinnin' Records and release 'Blood Rush' as its inaugural outing.
Swanky Tunes have quite a track record in the EDM scene. They started out in 1998, experimenting with different styles, mixing vintage synths with modern techno sounds. Nowadays their style can best be described as big room progressive house, with hints of 80's electro and 90's techno. Collaborations with Tiesto and fellow countrymen Hard Rock Sofa plus releases on Axtone, Spinnin' Records, Mixmash, Refune and more, only add to Swanky Tunes' impressive resume.
Now, it’s time for the Russian powerhouse to take another step into becoming true EDM royalty. The launch of their own imprint will definitely get them closer to where they want to be. 'Showland' is the name of their label and will become the home of Swanky Tunes but will also light the stage for upcoming talent and established names.
The first release will naturally be one by the masters themselves. 'Blood Rush' will be released September 3rd on Beatport and can best be described as a strong electro bomb with all the right elements to get the crowds moving. Lighting the dance floor on fire was never this easy, you simply can't go wrong with this one!
