Adrian Lux feat. Lune - Fire (incl. R3hab, Jeremy Olander, Style Of Eye Remixes)

Adrian Lux feat. Lune - Fire (incl. R3hab, Jeremy Olander, Style Of Eye Remixes)

Adrian Lux is back with his brand new single “Fire” featuring Lune. A taste of his forthcoming self-titled debut album (out in March on Ultra Music). “Fire” showcases Adrian’s adept talent for marrying a great dance track with vocals and cements Adrian Lux’s status as a rising star in the dance music world.
“Fire” is set to be released in two phases: February 7th featuring the Radio Edit, Extended and Instrumental Mixes; and February 21 featuring remixes from R3hab, Jeremy Olander, Style Of Eye and Mikael Weermets. While Adrian’s original version walks the line between pop and the dance floor, his hand-picked remixers bring things to peak time levels.
With smash original productions “Alive,” “Teenage Crime,” “Strawberry,” “Can’t Sleep” and “Boy;” and recent remix work for the likes of Britney Spears, Natalia Kills, Roger Sanchez, the TRON soundtrack, Miami Horror and PNAU already under his belt, Swedish based Grammy nominated (2011) and Aria nominated (2011) Adrian Lux is one of the hottest young producers on the scene. His smash “Teenage Crime” is certified Platinum in Australia and Adrian consistently receives worldwide DJ support from the likes of Tiësto, David Guetta, Avicii, Ferry Corsten, Sander van Doorn and more.
It’s also just been announced that Adrian Lux has been nominated for two Grammis (Sweden’s Grammy Awards) in the “best electro/dance track” (along with Avicii, Little Dragon, Rebecca & Fiona and Swedish House Mafia) and “Newcomer of the Year” categories.

Wolfgang Gartner - There And Back [Ultra Records]

Wolfgang Gartner - There And Back [Ultra Records]

“I have to make something that’s never been made before; have to make the best thing that I’ve ever done in my life - otherwise it gets stagnant or worse,” says producer/DJ Wolfgang Gartner. Whether or not his progressively more maximilist take on electro-house is your bag or not, you have to respect his exponentially steep rise through the electro-house ranks. And Lord knows, you’ve heard it -- or about it: flipping Beethoven’s 5th for the 4 am crowd; eight #1 tracks on Beatport; remix/collabs with Britney Spears, Timbaland and Black Eyed Peas; festival-highlight performances at Coachella ‘10 and Electric Daisy Carnival’s ‘10 and ‘11.

His new track "There and Back" released on Ultra Records today:

Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso - Calling (Lose My Mind)

Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso - Calling (Lose My Mind)

Two dance music heavy weights – Sebastian Ingrosso and Alesso – have joined forces in summer 2011 on the smash single “Calling;” a seething maelstrom of synths and white noise that delivers on all levels and takes no prisoners. Rising like a frothing tidal wave of sonic force from the darkly churning sea of dance music, “Calling” stands head and shoulders above all, propelling you to places other tracks won't even know exist.

Now it's time to unveil vocal edit of this hit:

Chuckie - Together [Cr2 Records]

Chuckie - Together [Cr2 Records]

Fresh from rocking Amsterdam’s RAI Arena in front of 25,000 people for Dirty Dutch Blackout in December, label boss Chuckie continues his one man assault on EDM. Now back with a brand new club anthem, ‘Together’ the Dutchman delivers another huge statement of intent. ‘What Happens in Vegas’ and ‘Who Is Ready To Jump’ both soared into Beatport’s top ten last year as his unstoppable charge to the top continues to push forward, but the successes of last year look to be eclipsed once again with his latest standout cut.
‘Together’ is one for the biggest of big rooms. Built on a dirty, jump up bassline and pounding 4/4s, the track builds to fever pitch where classic piano chords and powerful vocals collide to create a moment of pure suspense. The drop explodes with all the power and energy of a sub-atomic, nuclear warhead, turning the dancefloor into unbridled frenzy.
Once again proving to be the master of the party atmosphere, Chuckie brings his typically crazy vibe to the track for all to see. A producer that is so on form that he’s started to melt the studio buttons, Chuckie will not stop until he’s got the whole world up on their feet and dancing Dirty Dutch style. ‘Lets Stick Together!’

Artist Album: Moguai - Mpire [mau5trap]

Moguai - Mpire [mau5trap]

Not many producers get handpicked by deadmau5 to conjure a full length artist album for his prestigious mau5trap imprint; so for German specialist Moguai to get the nod twice in as many years is one hefty testament to the sheer quality, imagination and originality of his musical output.
Now, and less than two years since the critically lauded release of his first ever mau5trap album We Ar Lyve back in April 2010, Moguai returns to the fray, and on the form of his life, for the agonizingly-awaited worldwide release of his latest long-player project – Mpire.
Available to buy from 30th January 2012, the album itself is an exquisite piece of craftsmanship; artistically inventive, masterfully honed, perfectly coordinated and not an ounce short of what we’ve come to expect from this outstanding producer, working so consistently at the top of his game. With the juggernaut first single (also titled Mpire) released earlier this month hitting #1 in the overall Beatport chart within days, Moguai now looks set to further silence competitors and wow critics with this stunning new set of fresh, forward-thinking soundscapes, skilfully and thematically tied by an innovative touch that only he can attain.
Diligently incorporating elements of house, techno and electro, this work – two careful years in the making – has Moguai’s signature sound stamped all over it. Whether it’s the luxuriously complex, driving harmonies of Dynamo and Heimaterde, the progressive artistry of Lyme and Tommy Trash collaboration In ‘N’ Out, or the relentlessly pounding tech-bedlam that is N.E.O, this stunning album delivers more than it’s fair share of peak-timers to satisfy the cravings of dancefloor junkies worldwide.
But it’s the spellbinding euphoria of tracks such as Invisible, Styrum and Out of Nowhere that elevate this album to that next level of innovative flair – one that so many artists struggle to achieve. Gentle, hypnotizing and evoking emotions of tranquillity throughout with their mesmerising synth progressions, these welcome moments of calm within an otherwise club-focused collection captivate the soul and carry the listener on a delicate journey through the ethereal. Just one listen and we begin to understand why the mau5 himself insisted so strongly upon another Moguai LP instalment.
With some perfectly fitting collaborations and three exclusive offerings to round off proceedings (one each for Beatport, iTunes and Spotify) this album will no doubt become a mainstay in the collections of electronic music lovers young and old for years to come. In true testament to the infamous German composers that came before him, Moguai has created a masterpiece of a symphony that is as diverse as it is ingenious.

End-of-year interview with Dimitri Vegas

They just do. Not. Stop. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike launch straight into 2012 with possibly their biggest track to date, the immense, sweeping, awe-inspiring Momentum, alongside friend and fellow producer Regi.
Like being doused in pure dance floor gold, Momentum rushes across every inch of your body as build-ups of warm, lush instrumental layers saturate your senses from every angle. Synths, guitars, organ chords, swelling crescendos of strings, low, thrumming bass lines -- simple yet so majestic and perfectly crafted, the Belgian brethren defy you not to throw your arms in the air and let go of everything you know. Enveloping you in a three-dimensional dynamic of sound, Momentum carries you through a euphoric experience of instinctive production talent.
Momentum is released on February 14th through Smash The House on Beatport. But if you can't wait till then, put on your headphones, crank up the volume and listen to this exclusive preview.

Preview: Steve Aoki feat. Wynter Gordon - Ladi Dadi (Tommy Trash Remix)

On the eve of his long awaited debut album release comes the hot new single from Steve Aoki's Wonderland. Featuring the vocals of American pop-dance singer-songwriter, Wynter Gordon, “Ladi Dadi" is a blazing dance floor track.

“People are really going to like ‘Ladi Dadi’”, Aoki says of his pop skewing offering with the American songstress. “Dubstep is a major influence in my production lately”, he continues. Gordon had a #1 hit in Australia with "Dirty Talk" in 2011 and performed on our shores on New Year's Eve 2011/12.

Arguably, no other producer has done more to raise the international profile of Los Angeles in underground electronic music circles than Steve Aoki.

The remix package will include Tommy Trash, Angger Dimas, Pixel Cheese & Autoerotique remixes.

Riva Starr - Back To The Bass Mixtape Vol.2 December 2011

Just when you think you know Riva Starr... He’ll probably confuse you with yet another side to his musical personality. Don’t call him fickle, though. Try bored. Try excitable. Try unpredictable... And then some!

Driven from his Italian motherland by a compelling desire to reinvent, innovate (?) and progress (!), Riva has made London his home since 2008: A breath of freedom and fresh beats that allowed to him to wear his inspirations proudly beyond the sleeve and deep, deep, deep into the groove.

His remix of "Reckless" was premiered by Pete Tong in his Essential Selection show:

Swanky Tunes - January 2012 Promo Mix

Swanky Tunes - January 2012 Promo Mix

Of all the exciting new house sounds coming out of the East these days, Swanky Tunes ranks among the most noteworthy. The group formed in 1998, experimenting with different electronic styles in pursuit of their own sound. At first, there were techno sounds mixed with vintage synthesizers. Then the group moved into a distinctly big-beat influenced sound. These days, hints of the techno, electro-80's, and the contemporary progressive house movements are all finding their way into the mix.
Swanky Tunes were named ‘Best Musical Group’ in 2006 and 2007 at the Russian Dance Music Awards and they are currently ranked #14 among the Top 100 DJs of Russia.

Swedish House Mafia's Axwell announced as Headliner for first act of Cosmic Opera

Swedish House Mafia's Axwell announced as Headliner for first act of Cosmic Opera

Since Cosmic Opera’s mysterious teaser video and Twitter countdown were released last week, the internet has been abuzz about the “extrasensory dance event series” that promises to change the landscape of dance music forever. Today, the curtain has been dropped; the promise renewed.
The official launch reveals Cosmic Opera’s inaugural headliner (and partner in production) to be none other than Swedish House Mafia member and EDM icon, Axwell.
Flanked by as-yet-unnamed supporting acts spanning a variety of genres, Axwell and Cosmic Opera will transform New York City’s historic Hammerstein Ballroom on Friday, February 24. Advanced tickets go on sale Tuesday, January 17 at 10am EST. General tickets go on sale Wednesday, January 18 at 10am EST.
"When I was formulating the idea for Cosmic Opera, finding the right venue was one of the most important decisions I needed to make. Hammerstein's legendary history of iconic performances and profound architecture gave me much of the inspiration for the vision of Cosmic Opera. When I first walked in to discuss the idea, I immediately knew it would be the perfect home for this event series." – Justin Cohen, Founder & Creator of Cosmic Opera
As reported by the New York Times earlier today, founder Justin Cohen has ambitions to change the way people experience electronic-dance concerts, turning them into theatrical events with dreamlike imagery. Mr. Cohen said that Cosmic Opera will also have a storyline, with costumed actors mingling in the crowd.
While the announcement of the globally renowned DJ Axwell will surely make the Cosmic Opera kick-off the first must-see event of 2012, the production will not stop there. The team behind this new brand of unique events does not drop the word “extrasensory” lightly. If the latest Cosmic Opera teaser video is any indication, this show will be like nothing ever seen before.
"We are absolutely thrilled to be collaborating with Justin and his highly creative, forward-thinking team. Manhattan Center continues to set the venue bar in NYC, showcasing unique and diverse events, with the 3 upcoming Acts of Cosmic Opera in the Hammerstein Ballroom."  - Sarah-Jane Bennison, Director of Sales & Marketing for Hammerstein Ballroom

ADE announces 2012 dates and adds an extra day to the festival

ADE announces 2012 dates and adds an extra day to the festival
The seventeenth edition of the ADE will take place from the 17th to the 21st of October, 2012. After selling out for the last five years, the ADE is now widely regarded as one of the highlights of the annual international dance and electronic music calendar.
“Two years ago we included the Wednesday in order to accommodate a growing list of conferences and parties, and in 2012 - because there are so many events throughout the whole of the weekend - Sunday is now officially included in the ADE dates,” Richard Zijlma, ADE Director, said. The 2011 Sunday schedule included Moon Harbour & Secret Sundaze, Wicked Jazz Sounds and the Melkweg AfterParty. ADE 2012 will also feature expanded versions of the ADE University (aimed at inspiring and educating students and young music industry professionals) and ADE Playground (showcasing technology and technological innovation), both of which were introduced in 2011 to widespread acclaim, as well as improvements and new developments for the Hard Dance Event (HDE), Music & Bits and ADE Next.
The inaugural ADE University offered lectures from Simon Dunmore, Afrojack and Nalden, while the Music and Bits conference segment was given its own venue (de Balie) and expanded to three days, featuring presentations and talks by representatives from Sound Cloud, Pitchfork and Boiler Room. The harder music styles were the main focus at the specialist Hard Dance Event, and ADE NeXT offered up-and-coming musical talent a program of workshops, demonstration sessions and Q&A's with top flight musicians including Sven Väth and Frankie Knuckles.
Each year 3,000+ artists, A&R managers, journalists, label representatives, booking agents, producers and music publishers from around the world gather in Amsterdam to do business, network, discover new talent and keep up to date on the latest technological and legislative developments. The 140,000+ festival visitors - including approximately 25,000 tourists – fill the city's venues for a wide range of shows and parties featuring the very best national and international artists. The 2011 edition of the ADE staged a record 220 events in 52 venues across the city, with a total of over 800 DJs and acts performing. Performers included David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, Frankie Knuckles, Ferry Corsten, Joris Voorn, Carl Cox, Groove Armada, Dave Clarke, Modeselektor, Martyn, Chris Liebing, David Morales, Sander van Doorn, Goldie, Hudson Mohawke, Roger Sanchez, Richie Hawtin and many others.
The daytime program featured prominent artists like Carl Cox, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren,  and Boy George discussing their careers and vision of the future of the music industry. There was also a special focus on the Brazilian music industry, as well as an in-depth look at the implications and significance of the success of Dutch DJs and producers abroad. Dutch rights collection and distribution agency Buma/Stemra also launched a new app at ADE which offers composers and songwriters insight into their daily radio airplay.
Alongside ADE University and Playground, also new in 2011 was the presentation of the Top100 DJ Awards, which for the first time ever took place in the Netherlands. The ceremony saw David Guetta voted number one DJ in the world, and Dutch DJs were again well represented, with names such as Armin van Buuren (2), Tiësto (3), Afrojack (7), Dash Berlin (8), Fedde Le Grand (14 ), Sander van Doorn (16), Headhunterz (17), Ferry Corsten (18) and Laidback Luke (20) taking up nearly half of the top 20.

Andrew Bennett feat. Shena - Alright (incl. Sebjak Remix) [Zouk Recordings (Armada)]

Andrew Bennett feat. Shena - Alright (incl. Sebjak Remix) [Zouk Recordings (Armada)]
As 2012 sets upon us, Andrew Bennett unveils himself from the Kismet moniker.
The German producer makes a fresh start for 2012, hitting in with the contagious 'Alright' ft. Shena. 5 years in music business now lay behind him and the future lures Andrew Bennett for some more action.
Next to strong releases such as 'Breakaway', 'Evolution' and 'Age Of Love', as well as his early tune 'Light Of Hope', Andrew has released no less than 15 Kismet tracks in 2 years. In 2012, he returns to his roots and kicks in with a strong vocal anthem.
Featuring the powerful vocals of singer Shena, 'Alright' has all ingredients to cause a stir. Electric stabs, heavy melodic swirls and a string of beats that make it impossible not to move.
The sturdy house beats of 'Alright' got an extra thick layer of electro by Swedish producer Sebjak, giving it that real peak time feel.

Yet unlike many that have sold out to commercialism or believed their own hype, the boys from Dorsten, Germany, have never strayed far from their original blueprint, and it’s that level consistency that has made them a clear favourite amongst their peers, and elevated them to critical acclaim as producers, remixers and DJs.

Preview: Erick Morillo feat. Alexandra Burke - Elephant (Sympho Nympho Remix)
At the audition stages of  X Factor, its ultimate winner Alexandra Burke made a little pact with herself. ‘I said to myself that if I didn’t make it through to the live shows then I would seriously reconsider where I was going to go with music. This was about proving something to myself. That music was the thing that I was born to do.’ As it happens, the live shows test where the audience decides to deify the star were just the beginning for the feisty voice from North London.
Her new song "Elephant" in collaboration with Erick Morillo remixed by Sympho Nympho trio (Erick Morillo, Harry 'Choo Choo' Romero & Jose Nunez ) was premiered last Friday in Pete Tong's radio show:
Also she confirmed on Twitter yesterday (January 8) that her latest effort has been pushed back from its scheduled release date of February 26.
'Elephant' was originally meant to debut in September 2011, but according to Burke was held off so she could "take a tiny bit more time... to make sure everything is perfect".  After answering questions from her followers all evening, Burke wrote on her profile: "OK... SO ONE MORE THING TO TELL YOU ALL ...MY SINGLE RELEASE DATE HAS MOVED 2 MARCH 11TH 2012. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD GUYS... !!!! ELEPHANT IS NOW OUT ON THE 11TH MARCH!!!! (sic)"
She later added: "For those asking ... Elephant has been moved to the 11th march 2012 because Rca decided to move it."
Burke then assured fans that 'Elephant' will still be unveiled next week and confirmed her intention to perform the song for the first time at a concert for cancer charity campaign Tickled Pink on January 12.

Always pushing forward, Brighton (UK) based Tim Mason is excited about the future. 2012 will see him play in all four corners of the globe and continue to release his own music and remix some of the biggest names in the business.

Twitter to host its first Live Streaming Concert, starring DJ Tiesto

Twitter to host its first Live Streaming Concert, starring DJ Tiesto

HP and Intel will be hosting the first-ever live stream of a concert on Twitter next week at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show. The headliner: electronic music master Tiësto.
The concert will kick off the launch of a new 10-episode series on YouTube called “In the Booth” — a behind-the-scenes look at Tiësto’s life and his impact on the electronic dance movement. The private event at the nightclub XS at Encore in Las Vegas will stream live from HP and Intel’s newly enhanced Twitter brand pages.
Tiësto will play a 90-minute set on Wednesday, January 11 starting at 10:00 p.m. PT. It will then play on a loop on HP and Intel’s Twitter page for the following 48 hours.
“We have offered streaming on the site before, but this is the first-time ever that the site will feature a live concert,” Rob Pietsch, Twitter’s director of West Coast sales, told Mashable. “HP came to us with the idea and we couldn’t be more excited to hear how the company and Intel will be using their Twitter brand pages to reach out to the public and become destination sites.
“It’s a first for us, and we expect in the future that more companies will integrate streaming video into their pages.”
In December, Twitter announced that it would be introducing Facebook-style brand pages for companies to customize and highlight content. HP and Intel are among the first 21 brands invited to test out the new platform – other companies include Dell, Disney, JetBlue, Nike and Paramount Pictures.
The company said it expects to make the new brand pages for companies more widely available by the end of the first quarter of 2012.
Twitter users will also be able to interact with others on the site while watching the live stream next week. HP and Intel execs will also be live tweeting from the show via the hash tag #TiestoLive.
“This will change the way fans interact with brands on the site. Companies can tell fans to check out their pages and features by saying @HP or @Intel, instead of giving a long URL that doesn’t roll off the tongue,” Pietsch said.
“In addition, this is a concept that isn’t even available on Facebook, since it’s a closed community. Here, anyone can watch the live stream and chat with anyone else with the same interests. We expect to see some powerful things come out of brand pages in the future.”
The Web series – produced by Believe Entertainment Group – will launch Tuesday, Jan. 17 on YouTube and each video will be between five and seven minutes long.
“I’m always connecting with my fans directly through Twitter and other social media, so this was an exciting way to help launch the ‘In the Booth’ series and do something special for my fans,” Tiësto told Mashable. “One of the key reasons to collaborate with technology giants such as HP and Intel on my new show is the chance to try new things and go after big ideas.”
HP and Intel said they both plan to expand their brand presence on Twitter this year by offering new ways for fans to engage with their companies.
“Twitter was the perfect platform for us to try out an innovative new concept with Tiësto and allow people to interact with our brand at the same time,” said Natalie Malaszenko, director of worldwide digital marketing & social media for HP Personal Systems Group. “We have had great success with Twitter before and very high engagement rates, so we hope to do a lot more through our branded profile page in the future.”
