Chocolate Puma [a] stormed into the charts in 2001 with the monumental house hit ‘I Wanna Be U’ and since then Gaston Steenkist and René ter Horst have topped the house charts many times over.
Their latest track ‘Disco Electrique’ is currently sitting at No.5 in the Beatport Top 10, and you can bet their next house track will there too.
But what goes into making a hit house track? Is there a secret formula?
Beatportal decided to jump inside the brain of the Dutch duo and get their tips for writing a hit house track.
Here are 10 basic tips that every aspiring house producer should know.
Empire Of The Sun are one of the hottest bands around at the moment and The Shapeshifters have remixed their forthcoming single. 'We Are The People' is scheduled for a U.K. release very soon and has already been recognised as 'The Hottest Record In The World' by Zane Lowe on Radio One.
'The Shapeshifters Nocturnal Groove' version of 'We Are the People' is currently at #9 in the Cool Cuts chart and two further mixes will be promo'd from 19th May. You can check out exclusive previews of these mixes on the MySpace player.
Within the last three years, Bush II Bush have become one of the most respected DJ/Producer teams worldwide. Originally from Dusseldorf, Germany, Andry Nalin & Gregor Wagner AKA Bush II Bush have seen their reputation rise with a number of innovative productions and remixes to their credit.
Alexandro Jodorowsky ‘F Machine’ (Soundtrack)
Tony Lionni ‘Found a Place’ (Ostgut Tontrager)
Luke Solomon ‘People, Places, Thoughts and Faces (Ajello ReMix)’ (Rekids)
David Labeij ‘Shakedown’ (Intacto Records)
Just Two Ordinary People ‘Lucky Times (Paul Frick ReMix)’ (spontanMusik)
2000 and One ‘Wan Poku Moro’ (100% Pure)
Pezzner ‘Shasta’ (Physical Graffiti Records)
Mark Broom and Brothers Vibe ‘Mind/Feeling (youANDme Hirsch Edit)’ (Platzhirsch Schallplatten)
Makam ‘New York Hustler’ (Sushitech Purple)
Arto Mwambe ‘Ombala Mbembo’ (Brontosaurus Records)
Michel Cleis ‘La Mezcla’ (Cadenza)
Visti & Meyland ‘Yes Ma'am (Kasper Bjorke Mix)’ (Eskimo)
DOP ‘The Genius of the Crowd’ (Supplement Facts)
STL ‘Something Is Raw’ (Something)
Alec Wizz ‘Drummin (H2O Mix)’ (4th Floor Records)
Liquid Liquid ‘Optimo (Optimo ReMix)’ (Domino)
Silver City ‘Pendulo (Pete Herbert Edit)’ (Deep Freeze Recordings)

Harry Axt ‘Crazy’ (Rompecabeza)
Daniele Papini ‘Church of Nonsense’ (Alchemy)
Cajmere ‘Say U Will’ (Cajual Records)
Friendly Fires ‘Jump In The Pool (Wild Geese Mix)’ (XL Recordings)
Photonz ‘No Fear’ (Dissident)
Paul Woolford ‘Pandemonium’ (Intimacy Music)
Kerri Chandler ‘Six Pianos’ (Deeply Rooted House)
Whirlpool Productions ‘From Disco: To Disco’ (ZAC Records)
Sounding somewhere between Loco Dice's Pimp Jackson and Matthew Dear's Don and Sherri comes Trust courtesy of Germans Tiefschwarz. Released on Souvenir in collaboration with man of the moment Seth Troxler, this is an innovative track with broad appeal. Troxler is on hand to provide the customary American-accented drawl which brings the track to life. The production itself is an intriguing affair; a downright funky bassline complimented by what sounds like a random shouting match and alarm bells...

Out now on Beatport.com 'Monsters From Canada' is our series on Hotbox dedicated to delivering what most describe as "Monster Tracks" . Here we have Two Monster cuts from Canadian Uber Producer and Label boss Adam K.( That's ME :D ), Head Banging enthusiast and Electro House phenom JELO and Progressive Toronto Master Addy. The first cut is a cheeky cover Addy and I jammed out of the famed 'Popcorn' track but don't let it fool you... This particular rendition of the popular song has progressive builds and trancey feel covering all the angles to make it a global dance sensation. Already being slammed out by Mark Knight, Funkagenda and Dave Spoon 'Popcorn' is a favourite of ours. The 2nd track is the dancefloor destroyer known only as "The Good, The Bad & The Funky" by myself & JELO. This wobble-tech Monster is feirce and as funky as it's title suggests. Big drums accompanied by an old school horror movie organ will fuel you.
I know you're going to dig this,
This probably will be released soon on Spinnin' Records but for now you can listen it on you tube. One of the tunes which capture you on first listen. Great combination of everything, some house, some progressive, some trance and electro.
Howards House is simply a beast. only in the hands of John Digweed so far who simply commented 'this went right off'... it picks up where Deus ex Machina and Lauda left off, taking the driving tribal rhythms of the earlier tracks to their logical conclusion via one of the most twisted riffs you'll hear all year. Paolo winds it up and lets it go... once twice three times, simply enormous.
Oscillate is an exploration of ingenious dynamics and processing. Cleverly using a simple sustained note on two synths and adding various whacked out drum loops, Paolo makes it sound like a mad electronic orchestra while never losing the funky latin rhythms. Oscillate is a real, distinctive head twister without resorting to obvious gimmicks, class.
The production/DJ Inkfish sprang to life in 1998, when the four Swedish mates Mattias Lindblom, Jesper Lindquist, Andreas Hermansson and Johan Hermansson joined forces. Dishing out a variety of electronic music over the last ten years, the quartet has established themselves firmly within the scene.
As familiar as the seasons, a Summer is not deemed to have fully arrived until the first opening parties of Ibiza’s legendary nightclubs have kicked off in typical hedonistic glory. Still 20 years on and clubbers from all parts of the world see the white isle as their spiritual summer home for dance music.
Cr2 Records, and owner Mark Brown, can proudly claim to have played their own part in making Ibiza that magical place for so many people. As one of the leading independent dance music labels in the UK, they are respected worldwide for their broad roster of talent old and new and cutting edge A&R.
Think back to tracks such as ‘The Rub’ by Kurd Maverick, Fedde Le Grand ‘Put Your Hands Up For Detroit’, Federico Franchi ‘Cream’, Ito & Star ‘Sudoko Kid’ and one of Ibiza’s most played tunes in 2008 ‘Hulk’ by DJ Wady & Patrick M.
Cr2 released their first Ibiza LIVE & DIRECT compilation in 2008, and it still remains in the Top 50 dance album charts in Denmark, France & Sweden, and Top 10 in Spain & Portugal. In the UK, the album made it into the Top 3 of the dance album chart on it’s release last June, sitting firmly alongside established brands such as Defected and Azuli.
Such success in it’s first year is testament to the high regard for the label, the strong branding…and most importantly, fantastic selection of unreleased and classic tracks featured on the album.
Ibiza LIVE & DIRECT 2009 follows a very similar format; CD1-Day kicks off with the Mark Brown & Adam Shaw remake of David Morales’ classic Ibiza anthem from ’98 ‘Needin U’, and features the massive ‘Cyan’ by Arno Cost and Cr2’s latest signing, the dutch sensation that is DJ Chuckie.
CD2-Night showcases the darker, techier releases forthcoming on the label from artists such as Tapesh, Paolo Mojo, Danny Freakazoid & Stu Hirst, and CD3 once again features a mix of classic tracks from the catalogue over the last 5 years.
Expertly selected and mixed by Mark Brown, and all for a quarter of the price of a vodka limon @ Pacha, Enjoy!
Here's another exclusive from Rising Music. Pete Tong played this last weekend on his show and now you have a chance to listen here on Vibe. Beautiful vocal and fine melody, well this will be another summer hit, can't wait...
As an internationally respected artist/producer/remixer/DJ, DAVID GUETTA’s track record has been impeccable for nearly two decades. Now, in mid-2009, his career is reaching new peaks: “When Love Takes Over” featuring the lead vocal of multi-platinum pop-R&B songstress Kelly Rowland, is taking off as a world-wide smash, posting its first national #1 charting in the U.K. this week; he is also the track producer of Black Eyed Peas’ rousing new #1 single, “I Gotta Feeling,” in whose video clip he makes a cameo appearance. And Guetta’s upcoming fourth studio album, ONE LOVE, scheduled for August 25th release on Astralwerks, is an ambitious, ingeniously crafted album that sets forth nothing less than a bold and beautiful manifesto for the global pop and dance audience
“Making this record with so many talented artists was such an amazing experience and the end result is an album infused with all the best flavors of contemporary pop music that will appeal to such a broad audience both on and off the dancefloor,” noted Guetta.
Filip Le Frick is one of the hottest rising talents on the house scene. He's already topped and been a constant top 10 artist in the Beatport charts, with original work, "Da Latin Bomb (Muzik Xpress), which was a firm favorite and is stilled canned by the Swedish House Mafia. His remix work has made a massive impact too, with remixes on Big In Ibiza ('BK - Revolution 2009', 'Oye Como Va' and soon to be released, 'Whats Love'), Nervous Records (Kim English - Unspeakable Joy), and the miami bomb that was ' Minsitry Of Funk - Tribalismo'. He is truly one to watch in the future as he becomes a regular player in house music.
Forget tulips and windmills… Bart B More is well on his way to being Holland’s finest export! Over the last few years Bart has been bubbling under in the Dutch scene with a refreshing sound that blends big room electro and jackin’ beats… with his Toolroom release “So It Goes” garnering the support of such big names as Nic Fanciulli and James Zabiela, and being crowned ‘Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune’ on BBC Radio 1, this hot talent is the toast of the wider dance scene, reaching music fans across the globe.
First there were Heineken and Edam, then came Sander van Doorn. The Dutch musical genius may not be as mature as his predecessors but he’s certainly made as much of an impact in his comparatively short career, not only in The Netherlands but also across the world.
Having made his debut in the world renowned DJ Mag Top 100 at 32 in 2006, before climbing 19 places to No.13 in 2008’s poll; sandwiched between Carl Cox and Paul Oakenfold, the fast rise of Sander van Doorn is a testament to his raw talent and dedication. In just seven years he’s clocked up more dance floor destroyers, sell out gigs and awards than most artists do in a lifetime… and his journey is still in its infancy.
To celebrate the release of the album ‘The Sunburst Band Remixed’ – a new double cd released in July with new versions of SB favourites from Dennis Ferrer, Grant Nelson, Henrik Schwarz, Idjut Boys, Milton Jackson, DJ Meme, Yam Who and more ZR is giving everyone and anyone the chance to produce their own remix of ‘Fashion’, the David Bowie track which was funked up by The Sunburst Band for their last album ‘Moving With The Shakers’.
The top names of dancing electronic music are coming to mt:s Dance Arena, we already know that. Now, at the very same stage, we are presenting you with their domestic support, our most representative performers, who will also work back to back, try out new things, measure their strength. Those are: Dee Face and Vladimir Aćić, Vlada Janjić and Gordan Paunović, MKDSL and Flip. They are the people who will warm you up in a proper way for the performances of their colleagues, role models, teachers...
Tune from last year now re-edited with Dj Chus, here's original.
Here's new version, beatport exclusive.
Reuben Keeney is a young Irish man who is taking the world by storm. He recently won the Best New Artist for 2009 in the Irish Dance Music Awards and his new productions have seen him remix the likes of Richard Dinsdale, Funkagenda and Paul Thomas, not to mention signing tracks to Saved, sMACk and Global Underground.
‘Saxophone’ is his first original release on Spin Out Records and it’s an absolute corker, perfect for the summer trips to Ibiza and festivals.
This release also includes a mighty Tech House remix from Paolo Mojo and a frolicsome housed up remix from Spin Out Resident DJ’s, digital:punks.
When you’re touted by some of the world’s biggest DJ’s as the best thing since sliced bread, you’ve got a lot to live up to. If you’re 21, even more so! If your name is Hardwell then that’s no problem whatsoever! Having already served up some of the best music of 2008, this young star is setting a serious high level of standard for 2009.
‘Display/Storage’ is the debut double A-side release on brand new label Blackbird, sister label to Flamingo Recordings. An exciting, well-produced monster, ‘Display’ sees flaring hats, a chunky bass line and storming build-up make this record one to watch as we steadily ease our way into summer. More than just ‘backing it up’, ‘Storage’ sees crescendos of blips and bleeps jack around a grooving bassline and should have you clamouring for more of the same.
The brainchild of Hardwell, who sits firmly in the label's A&R driving seat, Blackbird will be the playground where all future Hardwell, F.L.G., F-Man and other such musical wizardry will be released. With less attention paid to vocals than Flamingo, the new imprint will serve up the kind of material that the world just can’t seem to get enough of.
Fresh-faced from the success of his most recent release ‘Blue Magic’ (on Chris Lake’s Rising Music imprint); Hardwell really has hit the ground running with this double release and looks set to skip his way towards to another big hit.
With remixes lined up for Bob Sinclar, Fedde Le Grand, Marco V & Sander Van Doorn – there is one thing we can say for sure – the future looks very bright for young Hardwell.
After the big success with the hit record "White Mouse" we decided to create a remix pack. Together with Topher Jones, DJ Cosmo and Niklas Harding this became reality and we're very happy with the result! Three massive remixes with their own special touch to it.
Two hours of deep funky and minimal techno from a relative newcomer to the scene, Paul Ritch. He's only been making records for three years but he's already made a big impression on the likes of Dubfire and Adam Beyer who have both released his tunes. Check out two exclusive new tracks from his forthcoming Canniballs EP right here in the mix!

Welcome to the third release from Animal Language - the fledgling imprint from lowlands trailblazers Mason. With no strict order or plan, the label follows no strict order or plan. Their total disregard for fads, fashions and trends has led to previous releases garnering support from across the board with Carl Cox, Nic Fanciulli, Sander Klienenberg, Stonebridge, Eddie Halliwell and Mylo all digging the Animal Language sound.
The Mason sound follows a simple method. Their understanding of melody and a canny ability to fuses it with technological know-how, sheer musicianship and dance floor savvy creates dance music for the thinking man, but not so clever to be alienating and dull. This is about rocking floors and letting the good times roll.
Mason and Animal Language return with their key Summer release just in time to blow up the White Isle with another forward thinking and original release.
'Affra' is a jerky, angular beast of a dance floor record with Mason's trademark analogue lead lines and jackin' bass. The mind fuck breakdown will have them screaming more before the energy balance is again restored.
'At The Hippo Bar' is another chunky and cheeky number from the Dutchmen. Big brassy stabs combine with a catchier-than-pig-flu pitch shifting melody. This is all topped off with another one of those obese analogue grooves and an unpredictable arrangement . This tune has more hooks than a trawler man’s basket.
The signature 'Refurb' completes this package, taking Affra in a totally random direction. A slow tribal drum groove is welded with a country rock guitar in a slightly menacing vibe. This sounds like Its not dance floor but makes for great listening.
Animal Language releases will include a deconstructed pastiche in an alternative musical style. Watch out for future Animal Language 'Refurbs' to include anything from Mariachi to thrash metal mixes!
New single from Moby called "Pale Horses" is hvaing remixes on Beatport yesterday including remix from excellent Brasilian producer Gui Boratto. Pack includes a few remixes mostly from unknown artist.
Here's a official video foer tune.
Depeche Mode - "Peace"
Here is the music video for the second single from "Sounds Of The Universe".
The video was directed by Jonas & Francois, and features Romanian actress Maria Dinulescu.
The single for Peace will be released in Europe on June 15th.

CuepointTV met up with Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell and Dirty South @ F12 in Stockholm. We had a chat for 15 min before they where on. This is just a teaser, watch out for a full lenght interview soon.
Great new remix from Australian producer Jaytech.
It's pretty fair to say that DJZ and FAKIR are the pioneers of house and techno culture in Serbia & Montenegro. They started as NOISE DESTRUCTION in 1992. although they met in 90. Their interest in HIPHOP and later ACID HOUSE resulted with collaboration and when their first bootleg/single called "Laki is a little nervous" became really big in clubs, duo decided to continue producing music.
New single is "Wet Dreams".
New event called Wanderlust that is being launched this summer at Squaw Valley on July 24-26, 2009. Wanderlust is a new kind of festival. The three-day event will bring together the world’s leading yoga teachers and the best performers in rock & roll, all in a setting of breathtaking natural beauty. It's a feast for both the body and the senses.

Nice second release on Royko-Recordings! Impulsive beats, thick synthies and nice vocals.........Tuff track with a good groove......MUST-HAVE!!!
Feedbacks so far:
Nice classic vox house track with a good groove……my favourite mix….the dub mix
Nice club track, will support the instrumental version, very good beats!!!!
The Dutch supergroup’s Touch Me wasn’t only Strictly’s biggest selling download of 2008, it also catapulted Bingo Players into the spotlight and rejuvenated the career of the many faceted Chocolate Puma boys. Disco Electrique pulls off the same tough beats blended with vocals trick, microphone duties this time handled by Michelle David, who delivers a powerful, staccato set of lyrics with a little old school diva attitude to go with a stomping and surprisingly minimal production.
Roman K (Ministry Of Sound): "Good work i play it in my radio show on Max FM"
Bertraud Dupary (Space Break): "Good work, Moon Waker Instrumental Version"
Rio De La Duna (Suka Records): " I Love Nature Rise! Huge melody for huge voice"
Sensual yet tongue in cheek release by Keith Thompson, the man that gave you “Break 4 Love” with notable mixes by David Vendetta, returns to the main room with “Nature Rise”. Remixes by young gun remixers: Mike Cortes (France/Poland), Jack Smeraglia (Italy/UK), Audiophonix (UK), and MoonWaker (France) makes this a powerful package that's difficult to decide which mix to play.
Taken from Keith Thompson's upcoming autumn album Party Starter. Thompson is consider a house music legend and is the vocalist of the original “Break 4 Love” with Raze from 1988 (Columbia Records). He is also known for his other hits such as “Living On The Frontline”, “The Rhythm Of Life”, and ragga original, “Can't Take It”.

“Canadian DJ of international fame to release much-awaited Illusions album, which features not only powerful beats, but relays an important message.”
Vancouver, Canada – Deep, uplifting and mysterious melodies intermingle in a harmonious soundscape throughout Canadian progressive dance producer Mikas’ newest album, Illusions.
However, Illusions is about more than just the powerful beats – it’s about the message. Two years in the making, Illusions was inspired by the deception of comfort Mikas observed in the modern world, created by people’s need to achieve and to commodify their lives.
Illusions, set to be released in CD format on June 2, and in digital format on June 23, it emerges out of Mikas’ desire to be different. Its beats are characterized by his unique progressive sound that blends haunting rhythms and inspiring melodies, with flavours of Jerome Isma-Ae, Sultan, and Ned Sheppard, to create his one of a kind pieces.
Mikas has been rising to the top of international music charts since founding his own successful label, Progressive Grooves, in 2005. Since then, under Mikas’ direction, the label’s unique composition techniques and uncommon sound have caused a worldwide sensation, with over 35,000 digital song sales to date.

DAVID GUETTA & KELLY ROWLAND VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE "WHEN LOVE TAKES OVER" DIRECTED BY JONAS AKERLUND
Producer, hit-maker and worldwide ambassador of club culture DAVID GUETTA will premiere the video for his new single “When Love Takes Over” featuring superstar Kelly Rowland today on Yahoo! Music (music.yahoo.com). The beach party themed video which was shot at Venice Beach, CA on May 19th is the latest video by ground-breaking director Jonas Akerlund (Madonna, Prodigy, U2, Christina Aguilera), who most recently directed Lady GaGa’s epic “Paparazzi” video. “When Love Takes Over” is the first single from David Guetta’s fourth album, set to be released on August 25th by Astralwerks.
“Shooting this video on the beach with Kelly Rowland and Jonas Akerlund was so much fun and really like a big party,” said David Guetta. “Jonas perfectly captured the essence of the track.”
The single which was released last month was unveiled late in March at this year's Winter Music Conference, in front of a massive outdoor Miami Beach crowd. With its exhilarating pop melody and uplifting, powerful beats supporting a ringing vocal performance of impeccable clarity and rousing emotion by Rowland, “When Love Takes Over” is set to be THE sound of the summer of 2009. The single is currently #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart and has crossed over to top 40 radio with early airplay in major markets such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Washington DC, Miami, Dallas, Tampa, Detroit and more. Along with “When Love Takes Over,” Guetta has another collaboration simultaneously racing up the charts, The Black Eyed Peas new single, “I Gotta Feeling.” Guetta produced the track and makes a cameo appearance in the video.
Well no surprises for tune of the month. Great release including excellent remix by Hardvel, for sure tune which we heard often.
This tune is leaked month a go but now here's a offical release including remixes from Dabruck & Klein and Aviici. Another summer banger.

a very crappy 6th generation copy that magically gets called "HIGH QUALITY VERSION!!!111ONE!!" on youtube.... you figure it out.
Three brothers by the name of Ruven, Ilan and Shmuel Flaishler make up one of the hottest dance acts / DJ teams around the world these days. They are better known as the Flash Brothers, who are the hottest dance music export from Israel to date as well as frontrunners on the international dance scene. The Flash Brothers are true pioneers in the Israeli dance music scene with regards to progressive house, tech house and electro trance music.
Here's bit of US house. Producer from Miami, Florida George Morel release today tune called "Get On it". In original mix it's a classical vocal dance house for radio but there are few remixes, first one is from Sabroso and it's a fusion of old skool US house almost jackin and new wave tech sound. There is also remix from Tapesh which is Toronto based sound but with deep elements and the last one is from Sebastian Groth and it's minimal sound.
Peak time party madness here from the Royko crew! A pumping groove with some wicked synth layers and a breakdown and build that will tear the roof off of any club that it's dropped in this weekend! Take heed at the message of this track and PLAY IT LOUD!!
Tim Royko [aka Tim Le El] known by his “Rise” Ep (Scream & Shout) is for sure a part of the young, extremely talented and international DJ-Squad by now.
His remixes for the Peter Gelderblom single “Waiting For” (Tiger Records ), the Richard Grey single „Warped Bass“ (Tiger / Pacha Recordings) or the single “Get Down” from Todd Terry Allstars feat. Kenny Dope, DJ Sneak & Tara McDonald ( Strictly Rhythm/Defected) are important elements of his present discography.
After the latest projects with Micha Moor “I Like That” (Scream & Shout) and Till West “Nothing Is Over” (Phunkwerk) follows his newest coup, his first release on Pacha Recordings:”Shine”.
As a dj, musician and producer, he wanted to take the next step and establish his own label to be more independent.
In february 2009 it was about time, Tim Royko launched the online label

Yoshitoshi has some heavy artillery in their arsenal of upcoming releases. The upcoming Sultan & Ned Shepard Remix of DBN’s track “Asteroidz” was spreading like a fever throughout Miami, with full support from some big names. Just ask Sander K who played it throughout conference… Expect to hear “Asteroidz”, with a dirty techno remix from D-Unity and a thumping Sharam mix, heading your way early summer.
New remix for "Scared Of Me" from Promise Land & Provenzano.
Released yesterday on Subliminal Records here's new release for Erick Morillo. This summer definitely will be summer of uplifting vocal house tunes so here's another one including vocals from Deborah Cooper US singer. Great sound production of another house king and dub remix from Dronez.
